Immaculate original condition clearly well looked after and loved. The dial is exceptional in its quality. What makes this particular watch even more collectable and sought after is the fact it comes accompanied with its ORIGINAL Patek Philippe papers, presented in the original envelope, with its original box. These papers are the original papers and not a later extract from the Patek Philippe Archive.
Dated 25th of October 1958 to be precise. Movement number 706838. This watch was last seen for sale publicly at a Christies auction in 2004 (as documented).
Yellow gold 35mm case with off white / cream raised enamel dial, gold baton hour markers and hands along with gold crown. Fitted to a brown leather strap with signed Patek Philippe buckle.
What made the 1578 that little bit different at the time were those beautiful so called spider lugs. Manual Wind operating from the well-respected 27SC calibre this particular model produced for just a short period of time have become a collector’s favourite and the fact it has those original papers could quite possible make this one of or at best one of a handful of this model available anywhere and it is here in London available now.
